The Housing for the Elderly

The Housing for the Elderly (Self-care Home for the Elderly) provides residential services to the elderly who are able to take care of themselves with minimum assistance but are in need of housing due to family and financial issues, and let them to fulfil their potential and have a healthy life.


Furnished and supportive environment 

The three Self-care Home for the Elderly were set up in 1990, accommodate 355 elderly residents aged 60 and above, and operate on a self-financing basis with an efficient staff ratio.


Well-equipped with Diversified Services

Shared by 3-4 elderly people (there are a couple of rooms in Po Lam), each unit is equipped with a kitchen and bathroom facilities, basic appliances, personal emergency link service and free Wi-Fi.

Each resident has their own private space and basic furniture. Other amenities, including a TV room, computer area, laundry room, and exercise room, can be shared. 

The homes provide regular activities, classes, and counselling to encourage the elderly to live a contented and enjoyable life through group activities and mutual support.

Admission Details


Admission Criteria

Our housing for the elderly are available for the following groups:

  • Seniors aged 60 and above
  • Physically and mentally healthy, capable of take care of oneself
  • In need of housing
  • Priority will be given to those who receive Comprehensive Social Security Assistance or are experiencing financial difficulties
  • Monthly income cannot exceed HK$8,500 (Note: the asset limit is 1.5 times the asset limit of the Old Age Allowance)
  • Willing to participate in activities organised by the home.

Fees

HKD 2,515 / month (2024)

Bills for water, electricity, and gas will be shared by roommates.
