Lai See is a symbol of blessing, love, and good wishes.
This Lunar New Year, we invite you to donate your Lai See with elderly people who need warmth, care, and a safe place to live.

Lives We Touch: Elderly Stories That Show the Power of Your Donation
For privacy and respect, the names in these stories have been changed, but the needs and emotions are real.
Ms. Lee entered our care home for one simple but painful reason: she was beginning to develop dementia.
At first, it was small things — misplacing items, forgetting appointments, repeating questions.
But eventually, she began losing track of conversations, daily tasks, and even the familiar surroundings of her own home.
She understood that memory loss is common in old age. She told herself not to worry.
But inside, she felt something she rarely admitted: fear — and helplessness.
Although she has family who love her, they could not provide the growing level of professional care she required.
She was starting to struggle with bathing, managing meals, and remembering her medication. Her family felt heartbroken, but they knew they could not keep her safe.
So the only way forward was to move into a care home.
When Ms. Lee first arrived, she was quiet and uncertain, holding on to the last bits of control she felt she was losing.
But slowly, she began to rediscover parts of herself she thought were gone.
She explored activities. She met new friends. She found a rhythm again.
And she especially fell in love with our art workshops.
Painting gave her joy, focus, and a sense of calm she desperately needed.
Her artwork became her way of expressing emotions she could no longer find words for.
One afternoon, while painting, she said to our staff:
"I used to fear the next hour. Now I look forward to my art class at four."
Your Lai See helps us continue supporting elderly people like Ms. Lee, giving them care, dignity, and the courage to face each new day despite their challenges.
Mr. Wong spent his entire life working as a taxi driver — long hours, day and night, always on the road, always alone.
He had no friends, no activities, and no time to build connections.
His life was about survival, not companionship.
He once said that loneliness was simply “part of life,”.
When rising rent and living costs left him with nowhere to go.
He arrived at our Housing for the Elderly — exhausted, uncertain, and quietly carrying decades of isolation.
But something unexpected happened.
For the first time in his life, he found people to talk to, neighbours who invited him to activities, and a community that greeted him every morning.
He slowly opened up.
He laughed. He listened. He joined activities with others his age.
One day he told our staff:
“I never thought that at this age, I would have friends.
I feel human again… I'm notice now.”
Your Lai See helps us continue giving Mr. Wong — and many others like him — a place where friendship, dignity, and warmth are finally possible after a lifetime of being alone.
Ms. Lam is 87 years old. She lived alone for many years in an unstable and unsafe environment. Nights were especially difficult — every sound made her nervous, and every day she felt a little more forgotten by the world.
For a long time, she told herself that being alone “was not that hard,” something a person simply gets used to.
But after she moved into our Housing for the Elderly, she discovered something completely different: warmth, friendship, and a community that truly cares for her.
And once she experienced this, she knew she could never return to the quiet, lonely life she once had.
Though 87, she is considered relatively “young” and energetic within our community.
She quickly became involved in giving back.
She joined our volunteer team — delivering lunch boxes to home‑bound elderly in the neighbourhood, those who cannot leave their homes.
She also helps in our fundraising efforts, such as selling charity cookies to support our services.
Every time she helps others, she feels something she hasn’t felt in decades:
achievement, purpose, and a meaningful direction in life.
She tells us with pride:
“I didn’t know I could still contribute at my age.
Being part of the volunteer team gives my life meaning again.”
In our home, Ms. Lam is not just cared for. She has re‑discovered purpose, becoming someone who shines, contributes, and belongs.
Your Lai See helps ensure that elderly people like Ms. Lam can continue to find safety, community, and the dignity of giving back after years of living alone.

How Your Donation Nourishes, Protects & Uplifts Our Elderly?
How Your Donation Supports Elderly Health & Care Services?
Nutritious Milk Supplements for Frail Elderly
Some of our residents are physically weak and cannot absorb nutrients the way we do. They lose weight easily, fall sick more often, and need additional nutritional support.
Your donation helps us sponsor nutritious milk supplements so they can receive:
- Strength‑building nutrients
- Improved immunity
- Better energy levels
- A healthier and more stable physical condition
These supplements are essential for elderly who need extra care just to stay healthy.
Appealing Soft Meals for Elderly with Swallowing Difficulties
Many frail elderly suffer from dysphagia. Eating becomes painful, frightening, and sometimes dangerous.
Your support helps us provide appealing, well‑presented soft meals that are:
- Safe to swallow
- Gentle on the throat
- Nutritious and balanced
- Delicious and visually attractive
A beautiful and appetizing soft meal not only increases their willingness to eat, but also brings back their will to live.
For many elderly, a good meal is not just food — it is dignity.
Meaningful Activities & Workshops
Your Lai See also supports us in organising activities that bring joy, purpose, and social connection to the elderly, such as:
- Art workshops
- Music sessions
- Festival celebrations
- Exercise classes
These activities help elderly residents:
- Stay mentally active
- Feel connected and valued
- Reduce loneliness
- Restore confidence and happiness
- Find meaning in everyday life
A single activity can brighten an elderly person’s entire week.
