Care Home

Our Care Home provide personalised residential care services, rehabilitation and counselling for the frail elderly.


Safe and comfortable environment 

Helping Hand operates three care homes, providing 343 Care and Attention places. Residents and those suffering from senile dementia receive 24-hour personalised residential care. The Social Welfare Department's Central Waiting List refers 342 places, and Father Sean Burke Care Home for the Elderly has one non-subsidised Care and Attention place reserved.  

In addition, 20 Infirmary beds have been reserved at the Hongkong Bank Foundation Lok Fu Care Home for the elderly who have queued for Hospital Authority (HA) General Infirmary Service.





Caring Services Features

Personalised Care

Residents, family members, and staff discuss and develop personalised care plans in stages for residents.

Counselling and activities

Properly taking care the body and mind for the elderly.

Nursing Care 

Provide nursing care and make appropriate referrals to medical services as needed.

Physical Therapist 

Arrange for appropriate exercise and treatment, guide the use of walking aids, and help residents improve and maintain their mobility. 

Occupational Therapist

Provide appropriate functional training, design and use appropriate auxiliary products, improve and maintain residents' cognitive, self-care, and mobility abilities. 

Speech Therapist

Provide training based on residents' evaluations, suggest appropriate meals including minced or pureed meals.

Admission Details


Self-financing place(non-subvented)admission requirement

We have one self-financing place at Father Sean Burke Care Home for the Elderly

  • Female elders aged 65 or older (if necessary, the hospital will also consider applications from female elders aged 60 or above).
  • Poor health, or loss or decline of physical functions, resulting in a lack of general self-care ability, and requiring moderate care in daily life and nursing care, including bathing, getting in and out of bed.  Applicants need to be able to use assistive devices or wheelchairs and require care but family members are unable to provide it.
  • The mental state is suited to living with others.
  • No infectious diseases. 

Note: we reserve the right to make changes based on operational needs without prior notice.
