Subject: Appointmentof Chief Executive Officer and Senior Advisor
On behalf of the Executive Committee, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Connie Chu as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Helping Hand, effective 1 July 2026.
Since joining Helping Hand in 2019 as Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr. Chu has demonstrated outstanding leadership and extensive expertise in healthcare and elderly services. She has played a pivotal role in strengthening our operations, enhancing service quality, and advancing our mission of serving older persons with dignity and compassion. Combined with her recent doctoral qualification specialising in elderly care, Dr. Chu is well positioned to lead Helping Hand in addressing the evolving needs of Hong Kong's ageing population.
The Executive Committee is confident that, under Dr. Chu's leadership, Helping Hand will continue to strengthen its integrated continuum of care, drive innovation in elderly services, and enhance the quality of life and well-being of older persons in our community. This appointment reflects our commitment to leadership continuity and to delivering high-quality, person-centred care for those we serve.

At the same time, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Sandy Macalister for his dedicated leadership, unwavering commitment, and invaluable contributions throughout his tenure as Chief Executive Officer.
Effective 1 July 2026, Mr. Macalister has assumed the role of Senior Advisor, where he will continue to support Helping Hand with his extensive experience, strategic counsel, and deep institutional knowledge, ensuring a smooth leadership transition and the continued advancement of our mission.
