The Hong Kong Jockey Club Helping Hand
Zhaoqing Home for the Elderly

A Home Specially Built For Hong Kong Elderly
 
Established with the fund from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
Constructed, operated & managed by "Helping Hand".
Supported by the H.K. Government policy, H.K. elderly living there can receive PCSSA.
H.K. elderly have been admitted since early 2001.
   
The Home Is Situated Near Baitu Town, Gao Yao, Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province
 
Beautiful, serene and scenic environment
Next to a Golf Club and an agricultural park
Numerous sightseeing spots
Shopping arcades, restaurants, hotels and cinema are just 8km away from Baitu Town
Transportation such as direct train, or road transport from Hong Kong & hydrofoil to Kao Min

Facilities
 
Single rooms, double bed rooms, four-people rooms and six-people rooms.
Air-conditioning in all rooms and in the public area.
Communal sitting rooms, activity rooms, exercise rooms, treatment rooms, dinning hall, hairdresser and library.
Conference & meeting rooms, and guest rooms.

Special Care Section - provides services to elderly suffering from dementia:

There are wandering path, tea garden, pet & horticulture area, multi-sensory treatment room, reminiscence corner, photo gallery and exercise corner etc.


 

Services
 
All services are in line with HK Helping Hand's standards;  same admission criteria as our H.K. elderly homes are applied.
There are resident doctors, therapists, nurses, and personal care workers providing 24 hours professional services for the elderly.
We have dieticians giving advice on the preparation of nutritious and balanced meals.
We have professional social workers and trained staffs organizing indoor & outdoor social-recreational activities.
We have assurance from local hospitals that they will treat our elderly resident at local rates without admission deposit under our “Medical Services Cooperative Agreement”with them.



 

Fee Charging
  The fee charging is reasonable. Elderly can choose the type of room according to their requirement.  Monthly fee (in RMB) charging schemes are as follows:

* The monthly fee excludes the monthly medical and hospitalization insurance premium of RMB1,300.  The medical and hospitalization insurance covers out-patient consultation, general medication and inpatient fee. For details of the coverage, please refer to the "Medical Services Cooperative Agreement" signed by Zhaoqing Helping Hand Home for the Elderly and the Gaoyao Hospital.  The adjustment of the insurance fee will be made in accordance with the change of agreement terms with the Gaoyao Hospital upon agreement renewal. Formal notice will be given for the adjustment. (Medical and Hospitalization Insurance fees are not applicable to the residents who are under the Pilot Residential Care Services Scheme in Guangdong)
